Treasury Tuesday
On Etsy you can put together something called a treasury list. It is a list of items you can pick out and put in a group. Each Tuesday, many Etsy shop owners will post on their blog treasuries that featured their items. It is called Treasury Tuesday. My earrings were featured in this treasury.
I also made this treasury last night. I used items that were on sale for Cyber Monday.

Fashion Links I Like
I have read fashion magazines since I was a teenager. At
the time, I felt like I was nerdy I wanted to learn how to put together outfits
better. From reading fashion magazines, I found out that I was very interested
in fashion. I enjoy reading about designers and seeing what is in style. I
think fashion can be very creative. I love to see how others put together an
outfit. In particular, I like reading Vogue. It is a window to a different
world of New York designers, artists and social figures. I find it interesting
to read about these people even though my own life is far, far away from that. The last several years, I have mainly been
reading craft blogs. I have not been doing anything about my interest in
fashion. Lately I have realized that I want to read more about fashion and put
more energy into my interest in fashion. Here are a few fashion blog and
websites I have found and like. If you have a fashion site you like, feel free to add the link in the comments.

Making a Fall Themed Card
About 3 weeks ago, I wrote about pressing fall leaves in this blog post. The
tutorial said to press them for 2 weeks. The picture above show the books I used to press the leaves. The first batch of leaves was ready
about a week ago. I pulled them out of the books and
coated them with Modge Podge. I then let them dry for a while.
A few days later, I looked at some card stock I had lying
around and came up with an idea for a card. I coated the card with Modge Podge
and then attached the leaf to the card with more Modge Podge. Finally, I added
another coat to seal the leaves to the card. The finished product is a nice, fall themed card. I want to work on this some more. I would like to see If I can get the leaves to lie smoother against the card stock. Still, I think this is not bad for my first attempt. I have several more leaves pressing. I can't resist picking a few leaves every time I go for a walk.

CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund
Last year, when I
was reading Vogue, I found out about this video series. It is about designers
participating in the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund. It is a competition put on by The
Council of Fashion Designers of America and Vogue. Here is a link to more information on
this competition. Its aim is to help emerging designers get to the next level
in their business. The winner gets a prize of 300,000 dollars and mentoring
from top designers. Two runners up get 100,000 and mentoring. I would
love to be at the point where I could even apply for this. It is interesting to
watch; I like to watch these successful designers and daydream about being in
New York and presenting my designs to Anna Wintor. I watched the whole series
and I am definitely watching this year.

Finished Projects
Here are some projects I have finished in the past few
months. I actually finished this shawl this past summer. I used this pattern. This pattern calls for Lion
Brand Homespun and I had some I wanted to use up. It wasn’t a difficult pattern.
It went fairly quickly once I got the hang of the stitch pattern. This shawl has been nice to have since the
weather got colder. I wear it a lot at night when I am watching TV.
I also finished these wash cloths. This was one of the first patterns I made when I learned to knit. I had
knit these for my mom and I decided to make for myself some in blue and
white. It is a very easy pattern and good for knitting in front of the TV.

Taco Hat TV
Kim Werker is currently raising funds to produce a DIY TV show called Taco Hat TV. She wants to make show that emphasizes skills
rather than projects and where the content isn’t controlled by corporate
sponsors. When I saw this, I was excited by the idea and look forward to
watching it if they are able to make it. She started on of my favorite crochet sites, crochetme.com and used to
be the editor of Interweave Crochet. She
also created the site, Mighty Ugly. If
you want to support this here is the link to her fundraising site.
