Treasury Tuesday

White Wolf Clouds on Etsy put together this treasury. I was lucky enough to have my wire crochet choker included in this treasury.

Wordless Wednesday

A leaf covered with a little snow. I saw this when I went on a walk.

Here is a treasury I put together on Etsy. I featured items in blue, one of my favorite colors.

Links

Happy Friday, here are some cool links I found over the past week.

An awesome podcast on Crafty Pod featuring Vicki Howell, anyone who runs or is interested in starting a craft business needs to listen to this.

A great article on being persistent with creative projects.

I didn’t know I needed to make a Jack Daniels soap dispenser until I saw this link on Pinterest.

This amazing artist makes jewelry out of pencil parts.

An adorable livestream of a man’s foster kittens

Kinitting for Fun.

Lately, I haven’t been working on knitting and crochet as much as I would like. One of my goals this year is to work on more creative and craft projects for fun. This scarf is a good example. I started this scarf to use up some light blue yarn I had in my yarn stash. I bought it on clearance. I didn’t know what project to use with it.

I am using this pattern. The pattern calls for bulky weight yarn and size 10 1/2 needles. I am using worsted weight yarn and size 8 needles. I like the stitch pattern and have wanted to try it for a while.  I also have balls of white and periwinkle yarn leftover from other projects. I like the three colors together and I thought it would work well with this pattern. Plus, the scarf will go with the hat pictured above. I had made it earlier but it doesn't have a scarf to match.

A New Year

I hope everyone had a happy new year. For me, 2012 went by too fast. Last week, I decided to take some time to relax and re evaluate my goals. I have been thinking a lot about what worked for me in 2012 and what didn’t. I have also been thinking a lot about what I want to happen and accomplish in 2013. Originally, I was going to take the last week of December to do this. Then I read about this blogger taking the first 3 months of the year to re evaluate his artistic goals. I realized it could take longer than just a week.

On Dec 26, I got sick with a horrible headache and it made me realize I had burned out. I was stressed out about the holidays. I had been living on much coffee and too little water. I had been worrying too much. I wasn’t getting out enough. I realized I had not done creative projects for fun in too long. All these things had driven me into the ground. Two of my big goals for 2013 are to take better care of myself and take more time to do creative projects for fun. I took these pictures when I went for a walk and took my camera along. I realized it had been weeks since I had taken pictures for fun. I have realized that I had lost track of why I wanted to blog and start an Etsy shop in the first place.  The last of 2012 and the first of 2013 seemed  like a good time to re think some things.  How about you? What are some of your goals for 2013?
