I hope everyone had a happy holidays. I always liked the look of bare branches against sky.  I saw this tree with ornaments while I was going for a walk. I liked that it had a Christmas theme yet was also different than the usual holiday displays I see.

Christmas is fast approaching. Here is a collection of links for handmade ornaments. They can be good gifts and are very quick to make. Growing up, my aunt would give us handmade ornaments each year. My grandmother also liked to send handmade ornaments. My mom always appreciated receiving them and  has kept them for years.

Some Finished Jewelry Projects

When I first started my shop, I really wanted to make pieces that use a variety of techniques. Along those lines, I made this necklace combining wirework and wire crochet techniques.

Around the same time, I made 3 wire crochet circles in orange and gold. I originally was going to make the same necklace using orange and gold instead of blue and silver. 

I then decided to make a necklace only using the circle with orange beads but I wasn’t sure how long I wanted it to be or how I wanted it to look. I tried attaching it to a chain but it looked too plain.

After it sat on my desk unfinished for weeks, I finally got an idea for a necklace and finished it last week. I love how it turned out. In fact, I liked it so much I made one just like it in blue.
